Apple Strudel is seen wearing this outfit when Applejack’s family is first introduced.
The Apple’s are consistently shown as having Germanic roots. This is interesting considering the phrase the “melting pot” was originally “the melting pot of all the races of Europe.”
Please click the image to display it below, it is almost an exact match. The outfit is identical apart from the Apple instead of bundles of what looks like maize. The facial hair is exactly the same, hell, even the eyes are the same colour. It’s almost as if the character designers used this image as a reference.
I put this forward as proof of the underlying premise that drives this blog - My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is intended for, and is either subconciously or conciously designed as a celebration of, White People.
Ethnicities other than white are either shown as competing specie (native americans) or token Magic Negroes (Zecora). The bulk of the show’s universe, seen outside of the slice-of-life episodes, draws its inspiration from European culture, history and iconography. Here’s a couple of notable standouts:
- Raising the sun and the summer solstice
- Cloudsdale and the Ancient Greek architecture
- Commander Hurricane/Spartan Rainbow Dash
- Ponyville’s Tudor Housing
- Pioneer towns, Braeburn and the Appleloosan Ten Gallon Hats
- Seasonal, Cyclical Time (derived from European seasonality)
- Multiple, Personified Deities (as opposed to Jewish or Arabic monotheism)
- Established monogamous families (the Cakes, Twilights Parents)
- Horse racing and English High Society - Fancypants and Rarity
- Athletism displays and events - Best Young Fliers, Wonderbolts
I’m going to have to stop here to stop this running on indefinitely, but you get the idea.
Here’s an interesting little factoid: The concious mind as a mindwave sort of skims across what is actually happening, like a sonar sweep. The actual movements and machinations of the brain underneath can only really be inferred rather than viewed directly. I believe people have little to zero control of their own actions and life directions beyond clearcut, generalised choices about whether to be concious of certain things or not, because from what I can tell this is the most accurate model of reality.
The point: It was inevitable that Lauren Faust, being a white, well cultured woman with plenty of confidence and a sharp mind, would create such a show - Because she is by nature finely attuned to the state of the world and in connection with what defines her and her people.

I’m sorry if you think I’m an evil racist or whatever, but as a global ethnic minority, whitey is more than entitled to an identity, culture & heritage that exists outside of a mueseum and is tangible and real enough that it actually makes a difference, and is worth fighting for.
